  • Talking with a Christian man......

How do you Identify yourself? Spiritual? Christian?

~I label myself a believer, a Christian, redeemed, saved, whatever the Bible says I am as a result of repenting and trusting in Christ.

Ok so lets begin with today's news....how do u feel about the recent Miss California controversy?

~The Miss Cali "controversy" is only controversial because we live in a world that rejects God. I don't really feel anything about it, its just sad to see how little people care about how GOD feels about these issues. The attack is always on the person, not God.

So then how do u explain the issue of homosexuality..bc I've read blogs where homosexuals have come to terms that God accepts them for who they are.

~Homosexuals who have come to terms with "god" accepting them for who they are are not Christians. The only way to define Christianity is to apply the Christ standard according to the Word of God...the Bible. If a person is homosexual and states that God is pleased with them in that lifestyle, does not serve the God of the Bible, neither do they serve a real god. They have made their own "god" to serve themselves and their own ideas so they do not have to submit to the idea of them being wrong...a very sad thing that a LOT of people on this earth (especially in the US) do everyday. You either serve God or you serve yourself.

Is it hard for you to tell people they are in sin? Or how do you go about doing so?

~Its a humbling thing, so yes it can be difficult to let someone know that theyre in sin.  I try to only go there when the opportunity presents itself...I consider myself to be a honest person, a blunt person, so I make sure its clear when I do let em know.

I have found that people say a lot they are being judged by others esp. by Christians....what do u say to this?

~Most of the people who say that they are judged by Christians don't know what "judgement" means in the context of when they're using it. Its just the easiest defense. Once again, the anger/agression is toward the person speaking the Word of God rather than the Bible itself.

So Taelor, What do you think is the #1 reason why people dont come to Christ?
~I think the #1 reason people don't come to Christ is because they don't Love Jesus.

Looking at our nation today and the types of things you might find on tv that you might not have seen years ago....do you agree with the people that these are the last days?

~I absolutely agree on the fact that these are the last days.

How do you explain "the last days" to an unbeliever or someone who has never read the bible?

~I probably wouldn't use the "last days" as a draw card to win people to Christ personally, because you have to be Biblically sound in that area to expound on it on the spot. I'm not, but I know the signs of the times and some Scripture to support them...Im just not good enough with it to use it as part of a witnessing tactic.

Tell me then...what's heavy on your heart? What saddens you?

~What's heavy on my heart is the fact that people just don't care about God and that His Son's sacrifice means NOTHING to them in the sense that they won't live for Him.
Its sad to me to see the separation that following Jesus causes between me and people I have always known and Loved...I pray God becomes a rescuer to them so our fellowship is an eternal one, not one that separates different ways after we die.

After reading this, I cant help but to assume my posts motivated you to write this. Considering Ive written about Miss USA, Gays, and my doubting of my faith.

I dont usually comment on posts I dont agree with because when youre in someones home, you respect it. But i WILL respectfully disagree...

"Its just sad to see how little people care about how GOD feels about these issues. The attack is always on the person, not God."

Firstly, she was not attacked. Miss USA is supposed to represent just that, the USA. If it had to do with religion, it would have been titled "Miss Jesus Follower" or Miss Closest thing to God". Although I didn't agree with her answer she was entitled to her opinion, it just so happened her opinion was based on religion. America didnt like the answer because many of us are trying hard to reach for equal opportunity, and to be frank Miss Cali didnt represent that.

"Homosexuals who have come to terms with "god" accepting them for who they are are not Christians....If
a person is homosexual and states that God is pleased with them in that
lifestyle, does not serve the God of the Bible, neither do they serve a
    real god."

This quote really struck a cord with me. What happened to Love your sisters and brothers, thy shall not jugde? Your "God" is the ultimate judge.
Homosexuality is far from a sickness, a disease that many christians think can be cured. Does not the word of god tell you that are loved, valued, redeemed,

AND counted as precious no matter how we might be valued

    by a prejudiced world??

    "Most
of the people who say that they are judged by Christians don't know
what "judgement" means in the context of when they're using it. Its
    just the easiest defense"

Defense for what? To be honest, people feel judged by christians for reasons like this. This interview was done not to show the way but to condemn those who arent following. And to me, that is not "Christian like" at all.

@mrsprosa - Well, I'm not here to go back and forth, I've stayed out of it except to ask questions...these are only the first people and happen to be Christian. But, I will say you don't know the motives in my heart and I feel it's unfair for you to tell me my reasons for doing this. You haven't read all of the interviews yet so again don't assume my purpose. I love people and always have, but I love God first and if I believe in God I believe in His word, the Bible and all He has to say. That's just a side note though, my interviews aren't even about me. I just think it's interesting that people who choose to stand for one thing (The Bible) get frowned up because they're not open to all these things, but God is not open to all. He loves all but He doesn't love sin. I didn't make that up. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything and sorry but our nation is open to anything now when it was founded on Christian values...Our dollar bills says in God we trust, Christopher Columbus was a Christian, that's how this country began. Jesus says if you LOVE me, then you'll follow my commandments. Most people don't read to know what God says or how He feels about these issues. You can't say we're judging people, if anything say God is judging them because He said it His bible-one man, one woman. I can't be mad if you're not a follower of Him or the bible, and that's fine. You have your own opinion and I still love you. We are supposed to love and I hope you always believe that I'm speaking God's truth in Love. If you know me then you should, because I've always loved on you and others. So yes "Christian like" is being loving like Christ but it is also being holy like Christ....not perfection, but striving to be like Him. But again, if you're not a follower then we won't get anywhere because His word won't apply to you. Lots of Love.

unfortunately she did get attacked by Perez :( he should have just disagreed and said fine we have different views..you can youtube it that he called her a B word and dumb.. at least my interviewee didn't go off on him, he just quoted the bible......

  • mrsprosa

@bookofvessels - Yes, I understand the dollar Bill says "In God We Trust." and if you look to the left of that it has the Pyramid, and underneath that it says" Novus Ordo Seclorum" which is Latin for New World Order.

The Government has nothing to do with religion. The U.S. Constitution is Secular and doesnt mention Christianity or Jesus Christ, except for the 1st amendment, so this country was not founded as officially Christian. There was even a treaty with Tripoli in 1797 stating " The government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion…."

I have a hard time understanding why Christians follow God..but dont follow all he says. here are some examples.

"Ye shall not. . .print any marks upon you. . ."

    "Whatsoever hath no
fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you."

"Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. "

"Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to
    death"

    "
Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord
    alone, shall be doomed."

    "
All who curse their father or mother must be put
to death.  They are guilty of a capital offense."

If all these are true, I should have been killed years ago.

I'm not saying to be open to all, but you don't have to be open to not judge other people's lifestyles.

You are set in your ways with having faith in God. That's great that you
are happy. Some people arent though and that shouldn't be wrong.

Faith in my eyes should be a relationship with GOD, not an spiritual
obligation to all Christians so that they can make sure Im doing as the
    Bible tells me.

Every situation that comes up, Christians say what is a sin and what is not, when in all reality, not everyone is christian. Ive never seen a Muslim walk up and ask me why I wasn't wearing a Burqa.

Jewish people who live here have never frowned upon me for not eating Kosher like they do.

What Im saying is not everyone believes what you believe. If they did, this
world would be perfect, and obviously thats not how your "god" created
    for it to be.

@mrsprosa - hard not to reply back lol..but because the tones are A lot different I will....In the bible it says to preach to all nations, preach the gospel, and what good is it to keep it under a lampshade? Basically saying what good is it for you to keep it to yourself? It's called witnessing, sharing your testimony of how God changed you. Like when you were in Columbus, you heard many testimonies and under your hobbies on myspace you put "listening to people's testimonies." It's not about pointing out people's sins like you're wrong because I've never done that to you, but when you have a relationship with God, walking with Him,, there are standards, there's purpose, and a will. God's will. I don't have to judge people's lifestyles, God has already done that & made it clear. Like I said because I follow God, I try to follow His commandments and Jesus says there's only one way. If one were to say they followed Him, but didn't believe there was one way, then one would be off because then they would be doing opposite of His word in the bible.

It's just seems like we've gone so far from God,...there used to be praying in school, I mean our pledge of allegiance that we all had to say says "one nation under God." That was in our schools, our baseball games! Talk about a christian nation. we've gotten so far from God to where everything is being accepted, and when a Christian stands on God's values they are blasted. Ya know it's like anyone trying to be righteous is wronged. But celebs like Perez Hilton, nah nothing wrong with that. The B word is allowed on cable television? Wow. The F word allowed on PG-13? A woman was on Oprah saying it's good to teach your young daughters to masturbate and get to "know" themselves. You know how many people watch that show. My point is is that one would have to notice the things opposite of God are the most poisonous......gay people have some of the highest suicide statistics, if they're so happy why is this? Yes, some are ridiculed but most claim to be happy & are proud of it....the aids statistics are so high with gay people, how could it right? You may say straight people have aids too, but you can go back to God saying no sex before marriage. Because more than not, they are not married.

Same with abortions, most women are not married that get them....but if we waited until we got married it may be different-maybe the abortion wouldn't be necessary.  I know Im' guilty of that too or was -but my point is that why is everything antiGod so awful? Drinking? Drugs? Muders? Lying? Greed for money? I mean it's soo sad that people are committing suicide because they lost their jobs and all their money. Their families or nothing internal could get them to carry on their life. That's sad. So for sure our world wouldn't be flawless if we were all Christians but if we followed Him or strived to we may prevent a lot of tragic events. I know personally I could have.  People have to notice the correlation: The farther we got from God, the more crazy & evil our nation became.............can you blame people for trying to follow something sound? safe? pure? I mean, you've even wondered if you should be teaching your children God's ways....people need to hold onto something guaranteed because this life is so unstable. Love

p.s. you dont have to write back i know it's long sorry...shoulda just said it's a blog.

  • mrsprosa

@bookofvessels - Dang you and your novels.

I understand all that and appreciate your opinion. now you are subjected to mine... :)

You are right, the suicide rate is very high with homosexuals. But not because they are unhappy with themselves, but because they are rejected. By their mothers, fathers, priests, churches, families, friends and society. They are made to feel dirty, abnormal, strange, disgraced and unloved. And to me that is so unfair. Homosexuality is not a sickness that can be cured. Some say it is a choice, and I beg to differ. Kids have enough to deal with in life, that I highly doubt they would wake up one day and decide to add homosexuality for the cherry on top.

Another thing you are correct about is the aids factor. Homosexuals are pretty high on that list, research shows they were at 1,664 cases in 2007.
But also for that same year, African American women were at 17,507.

I just feel that some people want to stick with certain things in the bible, like homosexuality and then "forget" about the others.

Why don't we kill our children that disobey?
Why don't we kill non believers? Why do Christians get tattoos? Why do they work on the sabbath?

Because the Bible was written so long ago, that things have changed. We have changed. We dont live in that kind of world where we have no rights. We have opinions, and are allowed to speak on them.

Some say abortion is wrong, but abortion, infanticide and child abandonment were permitted under Roman law at the time of Jesus...

Nowhere in the Bible does it say drinking is bad....drunkenness it does. the same as overeating which I know you are guilty of, Ms. Chicken wings!!!
